Kingsbury Hall History
The University of Utah's Kingsbury Hall was opened in 1930 and was named after a former president of the University, Joseph Kingbury. Nowadays, Utah's principal performing arts groups such as Ballet West and Utah Opera perform at the Abravanel Hall or the Capitol Theatre, but they originally started at the Kingsbury Hall. It is one of the most historic parts of the university and in 1978 was included on the National Register of Historic Places.
