What is Beauty and The Beast about?

Beauty is a bright and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a Beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she looks beyond the Beast's frightening exterior and befriends the castle's enchanted staff. Unbeknownst to her, the Beast is truly a Prince who was trapped in this form by a curse - but will she be able to recognize his kind heart and soul and free him?
