Opera Parallele returns with an enchanting new holiday staple
The enchanting tale of the Little Prince meets the magic of opera in Oscar-winning composer Rachel Portman and lyricist Nicholas Wright's adaptation of Antione de Saint-Exupery. First performed at the Houston Grand Opera in 2003, the delightful production was picked up by San Francisco's celebrated contemporary opera company Opera Parallele in 2017 amongst other revival performance and it now soars into Salt Lake City in the form of a brand new interpretation by the Utah Opera. Mark the dates off on your calendars and get ready to get whisked away to the stars!
The two act opera comes back to life in collaboration with the Chorister of the Madeleine Choir School and the Utah Symphony. Their stunning vocal and instrumental performances embellish the story of a charming young prince who falls from his home in space and lands in the Sahara desert. Meeting a host of colorful characters on his cosmic journey, the Little Prince explores a new world in search of the answers to life's big questions, its meaning and above all, love.
